Devotion to our God or our Political Party?

On Tuesday I did my civil duty and voted. I have to say that this year I am not excited about anyone running on either side. I have thought this for several years, but this election confirms what I have thought. The picture above points out the fact that the two party system is not so much a two party system. The fact of the matter is that we don't have a two party system. We have a one party system that is manipulated by the media, special interest groups, and academics.

I think that the media has created a great divide in America. The truth of the matter is there are only two world views in this world. I fear that many of the people of God's kingdom are letting the D or R on their voter card influence their thinking rather than the word of God. It is time that we stop letting a political party decide views for us, and start opening the word of God. How about our first allegiance be to the truth of scripture instead of CNN or fox news. How about talking about issues that really keep the people up at night?

Here are my concerns, which no current candidate running seems to be concerned with: the family as the foundation of society, the growing issues with the foster care system, sanctity of life (all life born and on death row), intelligent design being taught in the public schools, the climbing rate of teen pregnancy, and most important the word of God. How about a plan that focuses on how to rebuild the family instead of tearing it down with redefinitions.

I think that we are getting ready to head into dark days under the leadership of any of the candidates. I just pray that the term passes quickly and the next election has better choices.
